October 28, 2006 from 10am - 2pm at the Cochran Crossing Village Center merchants will be handing out packets of free wildflower seeds.  Take the Research Forest Drive exit on I45 (north of Houston) and drive west (into The Woodlands) to Gossling Drive and enter the shopping center.  This is a small local event and not worth a long drive but it's nice for those that live close by.  This is an inexpensive way to start your own little wildflower haven.  Rich, what would you think of starting a Texas fall foliage reporting section on this site to compliment the spring reports?  I know it's not as big a show as the spring flowers but there are some very nice areas in the state that draw leef peepers every autumn.  Just a thought to keep the interest up more on a year-round basis??

Murry,

Any fall color reports, including those of leaves turning are welcome. I have posted a report of fall wildflowers in the Hill Country. I will also be posting reports of fall color at Lost Maples.

Also...those getting free spring wildflowers seeds need to get them in the ground soon...certainly before the middle of November.

I would be interested in visiting Lost Maples so a fall color report would be welcome. I understand East Texas has some beautiful color as well.
