Hello.  I am new to TX and was wondering where I would go to see the wildflowers bloom this year?  I'd also like to know when the best time to go is (or a hotline or website to find out current info)?  If you have any info, please email me at [email address removed].  I would greatly appreciate it. :)

Hi,

You can view our wildflower routes and information about when and where to go at WildflowerHaven.com. I have a short article post there titled: When to come and where to go. That article will get you started. We also have a book with details on wildflowers routes for most of Texas. You can purchase that at http://community.wildflowerhaven.com/store .

Another good resource for maps and wildflower information is Wild about Wildflowers.

For bluebonnets the season runs from mid-March through April with most of the South Texas areas peaking between April 1st-15th. This all varies depending on the climate.

As we get closer to the beginning of the season, we will be posting reports here and on WildflowerHaven.com. We will also be getting reports from members here as they begin to sight wildflowers in their areas. Reports from the field are the best way to know when and where to go. :)
