I've searched the galleries here and elsewhere, and I'm still not certain what it is. It was all over our yard before it was mowed, though I did save about 10 in 4" pots.

It's the 10th one down on my blog. (http://cheryla76.blogspot.com/ )
You can click on the picture to englarge. I would have inserted the picture in this post, but wasn't sure how big they get. Also any more ids and/or corrections on the other plants in my blog will be appreciated. TIA
che

I believe it is a type of skullcap, either Drummond's skullcap (Scutellaria drummondii) or Heart-leaf skullcap (Scutellaria ovata).

I Googled images for both and it looks more like a Drummond's. Glad to know what it is, though there doesn't seem to be much info on it- i.e. toxicity, etc.

I can recommend two books that have helped me.

Wildflowers of the Texas Hill Country by Marshall Enquist - organized by family

Wildflowers of Texas by Geyata Ajilvsgi - organized by color

Of the two, Geyata's will more often give cultural and toxicological information about the wildflower.
