San Antonio: Several locations of bluebonnets and other wildflowers

This an email report from a new "wildflower hunter."

"Some good wildflowers along I-35 northbound. First, between FM 1518 and Schertz Parkway there are good fields of bluebonnets with apartment construction as the backdrop. There must be an artful picture of the orange survey flag in the midst of the bluebonnets.

Then, just north of 3009 on the northbound access road off I35 is a beautiful field of Dakota vervain. It's the first time I've seen an entire field of vervain, and it is stunning. Worth a look.

On the back side of the airport, there's a nice stand of bluebonnets with a few vervain mixed in on the eastbound shoulder of Wurzbach Parkway (might be Starcrest there) between Wetmore and Budding. It's just across from the Bitters Road brush site, I believe.

On Hunter Road between FM 306 and Posey Road, I saw a very nice stand of bluebonnets on a wide shoulder and stretching into a field. Sorry I can't be more precise about that location. Saw it a couple of weeks ago enroute to San Marcos from New Braunfels. It's on the southbound side." - Tracy

Thanks Tracy for a great report!
