Currently, along the northside of I-30 in Arlington, the bluebonnets (BBs) are beginning to show above the masses of green foliage. This looks to be a good year along the highway, at least. Edit: The bluebonnets are out in swaths of blue along I-30, fairly mature, and not much else mixed in.
Edit: There is some blue on Loop 12, south of I-30, North and southbound though not very safe to stop. Along Spur 408 Southbound from Loop 12 split to I-20 there are swaths of blue as well, with some other flowers (in small quantities) in the mix, such as verbena. Butterflies and moths are everywhere and the smell is delightful.
In Cedar Hill State Park, there are rosettes along the trail that runs by the duck pond, but no significant bloomage. Edit: Bluebonnet blooms are springing up but I have not seen patches of blue as I have previously near the lake.
Edit: I have heard (from Texas Photo Forum: http://www.texasphotoforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44692 second post in that thread) that Bristol, TX is doing well with bluebonnets and the roads from Bristol to Ennis are fairly blue. I will check it out on Saturday or Sunday.
