Ten Miles of Mealy Blue Sage - Updated
Reply Quote

A friend phoned me to tell me about a 10 mile stretch of fields of mealy blue sage along SH-41 between US 83 and RR-1340.  Mealy blue sage can produce some thick and beautiful displays.

Here is one photo from my visit to SH-41 today. There are scattered stretches of mealy blue sage in fields along SH-41 from US 87 to I-10. The section from RR-1340 to US 87 provides the best views.

Indian blanket, blue sage, greenthread, wine cups, blue curls and others covered the roadsides where I stopped.

There is are also some very large fields of mealy sage along the south side of Hwy 29 east of Burnet, I did not get a chance to stop and take pictures, but the fields are covered in pale blue as far as you can see.
