Help with identifying 2 wildflowers
Reply Quote
I have pictures of 2 wildflowers I recently photographed that I can not identify.  Any help would be appreciated.

This is apparently some sort of thistle, photographed south of Lubbock

This appears to be similar to some phacelias, photographed in Palo Duro Canyon

I think the first photo is of a thistle bloom: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thistle
The second one might be the wooly-white?:

I'll see how the experts weigh in on these two :0)

I identified the first one as Scotch Cottonthistle, a non-native invasive species.

Still don't know the second one though.
