Poor showing of bluebonnets along Loop 1604
Saturday (3/15/2008) I scouted the areas along North Loop near Green Mountain Rd and Judson Rd.

There are a few bluebonnets blooming, but the plants are very small and so are the blooms.

At Green Moutain Rd, I stopped and check for other rosettes, but could not find many. The areas along Loop 1604 look very dry and dead. There are a few patches of pink evening primroses blooming and a bluebonnet here and there.

Sounds like a good reason to plant our own little wildflower havens and keep then watered. Sorry to hear it is so dry over your way Rich!!
Flowers will brighten your day whether mild or wild, Murry!

Well that is my plan for my property...which will be called WildflowerHaven Ranch.

Hopefully, a few nature centers and wildscape gardens will have some good wildflower displays this year. The fields at Wildseed Farms near Fredericksburg looked like they were developing well and the Wildflower Center in Austin usually has good displays.

Murry...did you get the PM I sent you about Creekside road?
