03-16-2008, 2:21 PM RichO Joined on 02-15-2005 San Antonio, TX Posts 637 Poor showing of bluebonnets along Loop 1604 Saturday (3/15/2008) I scouted the areas along North Loop near Green Mountain Rd and Judson Rd. There are a few bluebonnets blooming, but the plants are very small and so are the blooms. At Green Moutain Rd, I stopped and check for other rosettes, but could not find many. The areas along Loop 1604 look very dry and dead. There are a few patches of pink evening primroses blooming and a bluebonnet here and there. RichO Hunting Texas Wildflowers    Report

Hopefully, a few nature centers and wildscape gardens will have some good wildflower displays this year. The fields at Wildseed Farms near Fredericksburg looked like they were developing well and the Wildflower Center in Austin usually has good displays.
