Best displays of bluebonnets found in Dallas area...
Reply Quote

The best displays of bluebonnets that I found in the Dallas area was along Spur 408, I-20 and FM-1382 (see Google Maps link ).

Several stretches of the roadsides along Spur 408 and I-20 was moderately covered with bluebonnets with many smaller dense spots.

The bluebonnets were at peak or beyond peak, but they were still putting on a good show.

Given the right conditions next year, this area could be the best display of roadside bluebonnets that I have seen in Texas.

Sorry no photos...not a good spot to stop and get photo, but an enjoyable view while driving.

Those flowers have been there for awhile. I did stop there on Saturday and the flowers were already going to seed. Spur 408 and the ramp to I-20 seem to be good spots year after year. There are some also on the eastbound I-20 ramp to Spur 408 as well.
