I have espied my first Bluebonnets in bloom this week.  They are not very thick and appear a bit puny, but at least they have made their entrance.  There are some along 360 between 183 and 2222, and some on 2222 between 360 and 620.  Perhaps these rains we are having will at least encourage the ones who managed to sprout in the drought-plagued fall.

Thanks for the report and thank goodness for the rain! We had showers in Houston Wednesday but it is really raining today (Thursday) and they are predicting more here for Friday and Saturday. So hopefully the spring wildflowers will respond with a decent showing for the spring of 2009?

Thanks for the report!
I have yet to see a single bluebonnet here in San Antonio, but then our area and the Hill Country have suffered the worst of the drought.

I fear the recent rains here will only help the late bloomers in May. However, some of those wildflowers can put on a good show too.
