I just got a report from a friend on mine on her way from Austin to Matagorda.  She said that she has not seen this many Bluebonnets along this route for several years.  She says it is just spectacular.  That would be Hwy 71.  I hope to get there myself.

Interesting report. That area did get above normal rainfall in August, and slightly below normal in October... As you go east, the average rainfall is higher, so even if they get below normal rainfall it might be enough for bluebonnets - particularly in areas that would capture runoff.
