Wildflowers Sighted: Bluebonnet Type: ;#Early Bloom;#Full Bloom;#Seedlings;# Coverage: Spotty (<10%)

Directions: Along I-37 and 77 Route:

Location: CORPUS CHRISTI, TX 78473

I was in South Texas and saw some Bluebonnets. I saw lots of thick seedlings too all along the highway.

On Texas Photo Forum, a photographer from Rockport has been posting bluebonnet and pink bluebonnet photos. The photographer Jimmie said that the bluebonnets have been out in his area for the last three-plus weeks.

Hi Edd,

Good to see your posts. Thanks for the information.

Based on what was reported back on 2/7, I would imagine the bluebonnets bloom line is approaching areas south of San Antonio.  The winter temps have been a bit higher along the coast than here in San Antonio and north, so an earlier bloom would be expected for the coast. You always have a few spots that bloom early and late.  Remember back in 2007, we had large areas of bluebonnets blooming as late as May.  This could be another year like 2007...wouldn't that be great!
