Sutherland Springs: Large Field of Sandyland Bluebonnets

3/26/20010

Found (not easy to miss it from US 87) a very large field of sandyland bluebonnets along CR-307 off US 87 just northwest of Sutherland Springs on the way towards LaVernia.

Saw a few other smalled fields on the way to LaVernia, but did not venture off US 87.

The main thread through my tour of Poteet, Floresville and LaVernia areas was - virtually no bluebonnets in medians along major highways. Medians that I remember covered with bluebonnets in the past were now mostyl absent of bluebonnets with a few scattered here and there.

Sweet photo Rich! This field reminds me of the one just outside of Hemstead on 159 and Jingle Road with all its sand bluebonnets each year.
Flowers will brighten your day whether mild or wild, Murry!
