05-17-2005, 1:54 PM FlowerPower Joined on 03-08-2005 The Woodlands, Texas Posts 136 A little digital magic Since I haven't been out in the country much lately I thought I'd have some fun on the computer with some early spring shots.  This one turned out really neat: http://www.pbase.com/photomurage/image/43517276.jpg This is Old Baylor Park and as most of you know there is no water in site.  In Photoshop CS I used the Flood filter plug-in from Flamingpear to create a lake with reflections in front of the wildflowers and live oaks.  You can get a demo version of this filter at http://www.flamingpear.com/flood.html  I think it costs around $20 if you like it and want to buy it.  It's very easy and fun to use Murry Flowers will brighten your day whether mild or wild, Murry!    Report

05-17-2005, 7:38 PM FlowerPower Joined on 03-08-2005 The Woodlands, Texas Posts 136 There are some very good plugins www.fo2pix.com offers some very good digital tools for photo painting.  I never did try the (was it Marshall?) oils on B&W prints.  Funny how a lot of painters try to be so precise there work looks like photos and a lot of photographers try to doctor their photos to look like paintings--isn't life great?   Murry Flowers will brighten your day whether mild or wild, Murry!    Report

I know of several artists who use the photo as the starting point for their art and others actually paint a blown-up copy of photographs. Photo retouching has been a skill used in portrait studios and it is just a small step from that to full photo art using acrylics or oils. I am looking more for a tablet with "brush" effects that you can apply using the old "physical" approach, but end up with a digitized effect on the digital image.   RichO Hunting Texas Wildflowers    Report
