The Texas Mountain Laurel trees along the edge of Mercer Gardens (near the library) are in full bloom (3/10/05). They are beautiful!

These early spring vines are in full bloom (3/10/05) in the natural areas of The Woodlands (just north of Houston on I45). They are true sun seekers and decorate the tops of many trees and bushes.

Where do beauty berries come from?

Looks like we're in for a good year of American beauty berries judging from these small blooms all over the plants in the wild here in The Woodlands, Texas. I noticed all this pink fuzzy stuff on all the beauty berry plants and as I got real close with the macro lens I discovered it was clusters of tiny but beautiful blooms.

I think this is a skeleton flower?

A few of these have appeared in my frontyard wild area and they have this lovely little (2 inches across)flower on the top of each stem. Best I can tell they are skeleton flowers.

Although goldenrod is tough on hayfever sufferers and tallow trees are considered a pest because of their aggressive growing habits they seem to make beautiful visual music together.

I'm not a morning person but I made the effort this morning to get this bluebonnet photo at sunrise here in The Woodlands, Texas. Our bluebonnets, scarleg flax, corn flowers, red clover, vetch and dew berries are at there prime now, 3/25/06.
