Re: Hill Country Report: Marble Falls, Inks Lake, Kingsland

I drove down to Burnet today and found the spot in Inks Park you described. Beautiful spot. I didn't hike the trail since I just got home from the hospital after getting a stent in my heart on Wed. The miracle of modern medicine, heart procedure on Wed. shooting Bluebonnets on Friday. I also went to the Kingsland RR and went to the office and an ...

Thanks for the great report Rich. I am heading for the Burnet area in the next few days, and now I know several locations that I definitely want to photograph. This is a great service you provide. Carl

I took a ride to Llano and Burnet 3/31/10. A lot of bluebonnets along the roadway of Hwy 29, didn't see a lot in the fields. The house on Old Spanish Rd. was full of paintbrush and bluebonnets again this year. They look good now and will probably fill in even more next week. Carl

I traveled much of the same route today. I took 1900 and it was the most awesome roadsides I have ever seen. In fact, I stopped and took pretty much the same photo as you did of the creek along 1900. I also traveled Old Hay Road and it had some good spots with some fields covered about half way through this 4 mile road. I took some shots ...

I didn't roam off Hwy 71. There were a lot of Bluebonnets along the roadsides and some fields between Llano and Pontotoc. There were good roadside displays along 501 from Pontotoc to Cherokee, but no big fields that I saw.

I was in the Pontotoc area Tuesday. Union Band Cemetery (on Hwy 71 between Fredonia and Pontotoc) is thick with Bluebonnets. More than 2005. Also the old abandonded building at the corner of 501 and 71 has a good amount of Bluebonnets in the field next to it. Carl

I took this on Monday 4/18/05. It was an overcast day, even a light rain when I shot this. It shows that white sky days can produce good photos because of no harsh shadows. Just don't include the sky in the photo. Carl

Rich, This photo was taken on county road 201 just a mile or so east of Llano. When I was there Monday, there were three horses in this field. Short road, this is the first farm. Carl
